Nearly ten months after completing their pre-application process with Loudoun County, the Eastwind Blue Ridge Fairfax-based developer and New York hotel company have not yet submitted their formal application to Loudoun County for their proposal to develop a resort complex on Paris Mountain at Ashby Gap, overlooking the historic Crooked Run Valley of Fauquier County.
But Eastwind Blue Ridge is as much a threat to Paris Mountain and our communities as ever. Long lapses between pre-application and application are not unusual as developers seek ways through and around obstacles to their proposal.
The Paris Mountain Alliance remains vigilant and active. We are covering every base as we continue our unflagging commitment to protect Paris Mountain and Ashby Gap from commercialization that would irrevocably alter the southern end of the mountain just as the northern gateway has been scarred and inundated with traffic since 2020 with the opening of Bear Chase Brewing Company.
